Wyong Seniors Advisory Council is
gathering information about the needs and priorities
of the area's senior citizens.
To help with its lobbying role, the
council has produced a survey to collect opinions,
thoughts and ideas.

The project is part of the Seniors Council's aim
to strengthen the flow of information about issues
that
affect seniors and retirees.
Members of the Seniors Council are; Juliet Axford,
Wyongah; Allan Booth, Tumbi Umbi; Chris Botherson,
Glenning Valley; Dorothy Brown, Sumerland Point; Luigi
Bruni, Berkeley Vale; John Cochrane, Kanwal; Mick Cook,
Long Jetty; Don Flint, Buff Point; June Goss, Gwandalan;
Bruce Kirkness, Hamlyn Terrace; Patrica Parperis, Tumbi
Umbi; Bruce Pyke, The Entrance; Dawn Thompson, Gorokan.
Community Development Worker
and Seniors Council Organiser, Annette Evans, said
the seniors council was made up of people with diverse
backgrounds and interests.
“From different language skills to engineering,
arts and crafts to public speaking, sports and writing
skills to music and mechanics, the new council members
bring a lot of experience to the table.
“Members also have wide-ranging links with
other seniors groups and community organisations.
“The seniors council also forms an integral
reference point for the future development of a Wyong
Shire Quality Ageing Strategy, said Ms Evans.
The Senior Citizens Council meets monthly. See
