Wyong Shire Open Day
About 3,000 people took advantage of this year's 'Welcome to Wyong Shire' open day.
The event was aimed at local families who were keen to find out more about the area and many of the services and facilities offered by the shire council.
Information was available about the environment, customer service, strategic planning, community services, open space and recreation, lifeguards, childcare and vacation care programs (complete with children's activity tables), libraries and road safety.
Visitors seemed genuinely pleased to see the wealth of relevant information. Other activities included free children's rides and play areas, craft stalls, a cooking display, live entertainment, and soccer coaching from members of the Central Coast Mariners.
Performers included Wyong High School students; Brackets and Jam drummers; and Aboriginal Dancers.
Other stallholders included Wyong Drama Group, Wyong Family History Group, Combined Churches of Wyong, the Rural Fire Brigade, and others.
