Purple Ribbon Project

The Purple Ribbon Project will be held from 19 - 25 July 2004. The project is designed to raise awareness of child abuse and the services available to battle it.

As the name suggests the symbol of the purple ribbon is integral to the Project. The colour purple was chosen as it is a spiritual hue signifying compassion.

In addition to the wearing of the purple ribbon many activities have been held such as displays in local shopping centres, forums, drama productions, family activities with a positive parenting theme, production of child protection and youth crisis cards.
