Seniors
Week 2005
A bumper community celebration is on the way - Wyong Shire is set to play a key role in one of the nation's leading community events.
Seniors Week promotes the invaluable contribution that seniors play in a rapidly ageing society.
As in past years, Seniors Week 2005 will involve a high profile program of events designed to highlight the wide range of activities that have become commonplace for seniors. The theme for the national celebration, from March 13 - 20, will be "the best time for ages", with a focus on learning, adventure and an active lifestyle.
In Wyong Shire, finishing touches are being added to events at centres including Lake Munmorah; Long Jetty; San Remo; Tuggerah; Gorokan; Budgewoi and North Wyong.
A highlight of the week will be a civic morning tea and a series of workshops hosted by Wyong Shire Council. A date and location for this keynote event will be announced soon.
Other activities in the week will include fitness classes, Tai Chi, displays of strength training; and a bus tour of many Wyong Shire attractions.
