Wyong Shire Council has again thrown its support behind national Youth Week, which will be held this year from 27 March to 4 April.

As in the past, Council offered funding of up to $3000 for community groups and associations, youth organisations, sporting clubs, schools and individuals to stage suitable events and activities during Youth Week.

Applicants were urged to plan activities that celebrated and recognised the value of young Australians to their community. The proposals needed to be prepared under the aucpices of an incorporated body such as a youth centre, TAFE or university.

As well Council's offer, there were other Youth Week 2004 competitions open to young people in Wyong Shire. These included a competition to find a suitable theme for the national celebration and a contest to design a Youth Week poster.
