2005 National Youth Week
Warm Autum weather and encouraging crowds
marked Youth Week 2005 in Wyong Shire.
This year's celebration coincided with the April school holidays and local youngsters
came out in force to support the various events. From its opening at the traditional
GOATS youth festival in San Remo, through the inaugural 'Wat-a-Fest' at Watanobbi
and the usual actviies at local youth centres, the week proved a hit all around.
Other highlights included the official opening of
a new skatepark at Ourimbah; BMX clinics at San Remo's
Extreme Sports Park; a road safety workshop at Tumbi
Umbi; Youth Week dances; and the ever-popular pool
and sporting competitions at the Gravity Youth Centre
in Lake Haven.
