This committee is made up of State agencies,
land managers, infrastructure providers and other key
stakeholders including the NSW Nature Conservation

The committee provides a forum for cooperative and
coordinated bushfire management, and community involvement.
A key tasks is to prepare a bush fire risk management

What has happened so far
The committee has attended
21 public meetings to engage the community; explain
how the risk management plan
would be developed; and how the public could be involved.
In all, the committee has spoken to more than 370
people so far - and is asking people to contribute
their knowledge, experience and opinions about bushfire
management.
Stage two of the public participation strategy will
start in about August 2009, when the committee will
stage another round of public meetings to present a
draft bushfire risk management plan and mapping for
public comment.
