Sporting and Cultural Sponsorship

Council invites sponsorship applications from Central Coast residents who have been selected by a national, state or regional organisation to participate in a recognised sporting or cultural event.

The sponsorship is funded by the Central Coast Regional Organisation of Councils (CCROC) which comprises Wyong Shire and Gosford City Councils. Grants of up to $1,000 are available for individual sponsorships and up to $5,000 for team/group sponsorships.

In return for a sponsorship the two Councils require recipients to promote the Central Coast in the local, regional, interstate and international arenas.

Find out additional information (PDF File - 77 KB) about the grants and view an
application form (PDF File - 68kb).

The Area Assistance Scheme is a regional community development program run by the Department of Community Services.

It provides grants to non-government organisations and local councils for projects that improve community well being and how communities function. See additional information on eligibility criteria, current priorities and application guide:

Council grants for community groups

Councillor's community improvement grants

Owing to the Local Government Elections in September 2008 funding for Councillors' Community Grants has been suspended for this financial year 2007/2008. Grant funding is scheduled to recommence from October 2008. Applications will be accepted from 1 September 2008.

Community Benefit Grant 2008- 09

The latest round of Council’s 2008-2009 Community Benefit Grant program opened on 20 June 2008 and community groups have until 17 July 2008 to apply for funds.

The grants help groups which are working to benefit the wider community either socially, economically or environmentally. See program guidelines and an application form

Council recognises the costs involved for these groups, and offers the grants as a way of assisting them in carrying out their work.

A panel of Councillors reviews the funding applications to ensure the funds are distributed to those groups and projects that will be of most benefit to the residents of Wyong Shire.
