Guidelines for Bed and Breakfast Establishments
Development Control Plan No. 11

Objectives

This Development Control Plan aims to achieve the following:

1. To provide guidelines to persons wishing to use their existing home, or extend their home in order to provide Bed & Breakfast accommodation.
    
2. To ensure that the standard of Bed & Breakfast accommodation is attractive to visitors, enhances the reputation of Wyong Shire as a tourist destination and is complementary to natural and/or cultural heritage characteristics of the Shire.
    
3. To maintain the amenity of the surrounding neighbourhood.
    
4. To ensure that the premises are well designed to meet acceptable planning, health, building and fire safety standards.
    
5. To provide guidelines for the establishment and conduct of Bed and Breakfast Establishments to ensure the maintenance of a satisfactory standard of management and service.
    
6. To provide a consistent and coherent policy for applicants, Council Officers and the community for the assessment of applications for Bed and Breakfast Establishments

This Development Control Plan (DCP) may be amended from time to time by Council. Proposed amendments are required to be advertised and exhibited in draft form and any submissions received must be considered by Council before the amended plan is adopted. People using this DCP should ensure that they have the current copy of the plan, including any amendments. If in doubt, please check with Council's Customer Service Centre.
