Green living - for a healthy lifestyle
Sustainable living is an approach to social and
economic, indeed, all activities, for all societies,
rich and
poor, which is compatible with the preservation of
the environment. It is based on a philosophy of interdependence,
of respect for life as well as non-living part of nature
and of responsibility for future generations --

Wyong Shire Council has produced a booklet to help
people live in a way that helps the environment.
'Green Living for a healthy
lifestyle' (PDF - 48.82
MB) provides tips and ideas to help people get started
on the sustainability
journey.
Simply mulching your garden, composting, saving water
and growing your own vegetables can help reduce damage
to our 'big backyard' - the environment.
The booklet also contains specific information about
subjects such as worm farming, green gardening, companion
planting, pest control, community gardens, green cleaning,
water and energy.
'Green Living for a healthy lifestyle' is easy to
read, compact and chock full of hint, tips and suggestions.
The section on recycling, for example, provides valuable
information about the correct, environmentally-friendly
disposal of mobile phones, printer cartridges, computers,
plastic bags, croks, chemicals, car batteries, oil,
paints, solvents and pesticides.
