The
value of natural bushland
Bushland provides habitat
for native animals; stabilises soil; improves water
quality; and provides educational recreational opportunities
in urban areas.
Landcare and Bushcare are programs that help the community
to become involved in managing and maintaining remnant
bushland, as well as repairing degraded land.
You can
join an existing group or start a new one in your
local reserve, while private landowners can also participate
by looking after their bushland and water courses. Calendar of training and activities
To
help promote community involvement in Bushcare
and Landcare activities, workshops, courses and
field
days are held regularly on the Central Coast
and within
Lake
Macquarie
City.
