Memorial Garden
Wyong Shire Council has completed stage three of new memorial gardens
at Noraville Cemetery.
The Memorial Gardens now consist of 343 granite
marker and base and is located within gardens which
have been designed to blend with
the natural surroundings. The marker and base is secured to a concrete foundation
and a bronze plaque is placed on the face of the marker.
Landscaping and newly planted trees surround the
memorial gardens which are located around the pergola,
where cemetery visitors can sit and remember.
Stage four will include new gardens surrounding
the existing niche wall and the creation of a dry
creek bed and a bridge. The bridge will guide visitors
from the memorial garden to the new gardens surrounding
the existing niche wall.
Memorial Niche Wall
Noraville cemetery also features a niche wall,
with 100 receptacles for receiving cremated remains.
A Niche can be purchased in advance and
reserved. Only half the ashes fit in the wall container.
Next of kin can either be met onsite by Council staff
for the placing of ashes into the wall, or ashes
can be collected from local residents. Council
does not hold ashes in its offices.
Each container in the Memorial Wall has a bud holder
for flowers.
