Memorial gardens at Noraville
cemetery
Noraville now boasts the first memorial garden at
a Wyong Shire cemetery.
The facilities were installed by Central Coast Memorials
and consist of 128 ash interment places.
Each internment location has a granite marker and
base and are located within gardens which have been
designed to blend with the natural surroundings. The
marker and base is secured to a concrete foundation
and a bronze plaque is placed on the face of the marker.
Stage
three of the memorial gardens will provide an additional
220 ash internment places.
The memorial gardens are located around a shelter
that Council built at the cemetery in 2007as part
of ongoing upgrades.
Landscaping and tree planting complements the Memorial
Gardens and shelter.
Council’s Business Unit Manager, Tara Mills,
said the memorial gardens, offers an alternative to
the niche wall or grave sites for the placing of ashes.
Our aim is to provide choices to the families of the
bereaved.
“The internment sites in the memorial gardens
are currently for sale to the public,” Ms Mills
said.
“The new sites have been designed to fit in
with the surrounding trees and gardens and are priced
very competitively.”
“We know that visiting a cemetery is usually
a very emotional experience so Council is doing what
it can to make a visit to Noraville Cemetery a bit
more pleasant.”
