The
Entrance plan display extended
Residents have additional time
to comment on the future of The Entrance.
Owing to public interest, a draft
plan known as The Entrance Peninsula Planning Strategy
will stay on exhibition until the end of February.
See
the document and lodge a comment by e-mail.
Wyong Shire Council agreed to extend
the period after more than 120 people attended recent
community consultation sessions at The Entrance.
The extended
period will give business owners ample opportunity
after the Christmas period to provide
the council with written submissions.
Future Planning Manager, Deb McKenzie, said.the meetings
were well attended by a combination of business owners,
residents and community groups.
The meetings were held to publicly discuss Council’s
proposals for Long Jetty, The Entrance and The Entrance
North.
Wyong Mayor, Warren Welham, said the talks
had provided
an
opportunity for stakeholders to familiarise themselves with
the proposals and provide valuable feedback and input
into the future preparation of the The Entrance Peninsular
Planning Strategy.
And the nature of the feedback following the meetings
was impressive.
“
There was a lot of feedback, people were forthcoming
with their comments and suggestions and staff are
grateful for everyone’s time and input,’’ Ms
McKenzie said.
“
We are certainly encouraged with the informed
nature of the feedback.’’
In accord with the extension of the exhibition, Council
will seek to extend the shopfront exhibition at The
Entrance’s Lakeside Plaza, The Entrance Road
until the end of February.
The display is open between 9am and 4pm every Monday
and Friday with Council staff on hand to answer questions
on aspects of the strategy and listen to feedback.
