Help
decide Wyong Shire's future
A call has gone out for people to
help plan the future.
Residents of Wyong Shire are being
invited to join a consultation and
liaison group assisting
with a 20-year Vision for the area.
The vision will determine where the Shire could and
should be heading for future generations and will help
focus the efforts of the community, State Government
and Wyong Shire Council as they work towards achieving
this.
Part of this process involves the establishment of
the Community Liaison Group to ensure the public,
in partnership with Council, is driving the long-term
Vision.

Wyong Mayor, Warren Welham, said developing
a long term Vision for the Shire was an "exciting venture
for the community".
“It will help recognise and build on the positives
we already have in our Shire and also set a direction
for where we should be heading in the future.
“This whole process will need to take about
18 months to ensure we get the right outcome.
“A number of community liaison activities and
surveys have already been carried out by Council but
more will need to be done over the coming months.
“To help with this process, Council will establish
a Community Liaison Group to meet regularly and provide
practical input.
“I encourage all interested residents and business
people to come forward and nominate for this Community
Liaison Group and play an active role in our Shire’s
future.
“We all want a Shire of which we can continue
to be proud. Let’s get involved and set our
Vision for how it will look in 20 years.”
