Don Grace, Citizen of the YearOur leading citizens

A prominent community worker has been named Wyong Shire’s Citizen of the Year.

Don Grace, who has volunteered countless hours of his time to help people in need, received his honour at last night’s Australia Day Award presentation.

In his second term at the helm of The Entrance Lions Club and president of The Entrance North Progress Association, Don (shown) works tirelessly and modestly for his community.

He was a driving force behind the Lions Sensory Garden, which attracts thousands of visitors to The Entrance North each year; is a member of The Entrance North Coastcare and Wycare groups; a parish councillor of the Anglican Church; and a supervisor of Work for The Dole and Community Service Orders.

Announcing the award, Wyong Mayor, Bob Graham, said Don Grace was a worthy recipient who “deserved the highest acknowledgment for modestly giving his time and services for the benefit of the community.”
