Australia Day 2008 proves a hit

Neither heat nor rain prevented Wyong Shire residents from turning out in droves to celebrate Australia Day.

The usual Australia Day Eve celebrations at Toukley's Canton Beach proved a hit with locals and visitors alike, despite a storm which swept through the area.

Citizenship ceremonies were held on Australia Day at Wyong and The Entrance, with 26 people becoming Australians at each site. Events at The Entrance were bathed in bright sunshine. Check out this selection of photographs.
