Community Support and Human Services Planning
Family, neighbourhood and community networks, both formal and informal, are important in new release areas. Opportunities exist for working to boost community spirit.

New urban release areas, by their very nature, lack community cohesion. Residents have often relocated from other areas and have often moved away from their social networks and family. This can often lead to feelings of isolation and lack of connection and reduce liaison. There is a need to build a sense of community in new release areas to enable residents to become part of a neighbourhood are reduce isolation.

See additional information on planning and developing human or community services.
